Helen Taylor

Helen Taylor is a full-time professional dog trainer and behaviourist
based in North Dorset. She specialises in pet obedience and behavioural
problems and provides class and private training to clients throughout
Dorset, South Somerset, North Hampshire and West Wiltshire.
Educated at Southampton University, the country's foremost university
for animal behaviour studies, Helen has an honours degree in Zoology
and an Advanced Diploma in Canine Behavioural Management. She is
a full member of The Association of Pet Behaviour Counsellors, a
member of The Association of Pet Dog Trainers (No 881) and the Institute
for Animal Care Eduction. Animal-mad from an extremely early age,
Helen nonetheless spent the first part of her career in Information
Technology before realising that her true calling had to lie with
her life-long passion - animals. She trained to become a Pet Behavioural
Therapist and launched her business providing puppy and obedience
classes, one-to-one training and behavioural consultations.
Helen uses clicker training and other positive, reward-based dog
training methods to help dog-owners with training and behavioural
problems using kind and effective ways to improve behaviour and
solve problems. She is recommended by and takes referrals from all
the major veterinary practices locally and many from further afield.
Helen also gives talks to primary school children on safe behaviour
round dogs and is available as an independent expert witness for
dog-related court cases and legal proceedings. Helen lives in Sturminster
Newton with her three year-old Dobermann, Tia.

Helen is assisted by Polly Warren. Polly spent most of her career
in banking. Polly has an interest in reward-based training and behaviour,
especially in relation to gundogs. She has a Certificate in Canine
Behaviour and Psychology and is a Member of the Institute of Animal
Care Education. Polly helps in class and also sometimes assists
during private sessions and behaviourals. Polly has an English Springer
Spaniel, Leica.
